I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and cross-listed in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria (UVic).

I am an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute.

My research focuses on developing new methodology in econometrics, statistics, and machine learning. My current work advances modal and mode-based regression and integrates machine learning into statistical frameworks for high-dimensional, complex, and real-world data. My research has been supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, along with other funding sources.
